Hivos’ receives 3.2 million euro for Stop Child Labour Campaign

Stop Child Labour is very happy with the fantastic news that the Dutch Lottery has selected Hivos’ proposal ‘Omar’s Dream’ for funding. This means we will be able to make a real change for working children in Africa!
Core of Hivos’ winning proposal for the campaign is increasing so-called Child Labour Free Zones, areas in which no child works and every child goes to school. The approach has been very successful in India for years and will now – thanks to the 3.2 million euro of the Dutch Lottery – be implemented and strengthened in nine African countries; Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Morocco, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso.
