Stop childlabour in Turkish hazelnut harvest!
Children of Turkish seasonal workers are still working in the hazelnut harvest. From the age of ten, boys and girls help harvesting te hazelnuts we find in our chocolate and hazelnut paste. Stop Childlabour and Dutch labour union FNV Bondgenoten urge companies to take action.
Last year, a report in a Dutch news broadcast made clear there is much to be done in the Turkish hazelnut harvest: children work long days on plantations. Dutch and European politicians responded in shock and plead for action. Both the Turkish government as companies promised stricter measures. Until now this has been to no avail.
