Partners worldwide

'Stop Child Labour - School is the best place to work' has been inspired by the successful work of the MV Foundation, an Indian non governmental organization based in the state of Andhra Pradesh, that is working with community groups, teachers, parents, employers and government officials in an effort to remove children from work and enrol them in school. Over the past 10 years, the MV Foundation has taken more then 600.000 children out of work and made 1.500 villages 'Child Labour Free'.

During the years 'Stop Child Labour - School is the best place to work' has increased cooperation with more partners in child labour affected countries that (are willing to) work on the principle that 'no child should work; every child must be in school'. SCL supports projects and facilitates exchange between organizations in India, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Albania, Guatemala and other countries where child labour is stil a fact of life for many children. These organizations closely co-operate with governments, unions, teachers, parents and children. By providing better quality full-time education and social mobilization against child labour, children who once went to work every day are now going to school.

'Stop Child Labour - School is the best place to work' also co-operates with (international) organizations in other countries that share the campaign's guiding principles and support its advocacy and awareness raising activities. For example; the International Labor Rights Forum (ILRF), Building and Wood Workers' International (BWI) and Education International (EI) have decided to join the Stop Child Labour Petition Action in the run-up to the Global Child Labour Conference, 10-11 May 2010 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Such co-operation with like minded organizations strengthens our position and increases impact towards realising the common goal of a world without child labour and the right to education as we have promised to all children.
